Day 1: Pick Up and Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel, Entebbe International Airport, or any preferred location in Kampala or Entebbe. After meeting your professional safari guide, you will begin the journey northwards to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area, renowned for its spectacular waterfalls, abundant wildlife, and breathtaking scenery.

Along the way, you will make a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where wild rhinos can be seen. Here, you will enjoy a guided walking safari to observe the southern white rhinos in their natural habitat while learning about the country’s successful rhino conservation efforts.

After lunch, continue your drive to Murchison Falls National Park. Before heading to your lodge, visit the Top of Murchison Falls, where the mighty River Nile is forced through a narrow seven-meter-wide gorge before plunging over 40 meters into the Devil’s Cauldron below. Feel the thunderous roar of the falls, admire the spectacular views, and capture memorable photographs of one of Africa’s most powerful waterfalls.

Later, proceed to your lodge for check-in. Spend the evening relaxing while enjoying the peaceful surroundings of the park before dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Nile Boat Cruise

Rise early for breakfast before setting off on an exciting morning game drive across the northern sector of Murchison Falls National Park. This area is famous for its vast savannah grasslands and offers excellent opportunities to spot a wide variety of wildlife. Keep your camera ready as you search for elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, hartebeests, oribis, warthogs, and, with some luck, elusive leopards and hyenas. Your experienced guide will help you locate wildlife while sharing fascinating information about the park’s diverse ecosystem.

Return to the lodge for lunch and a short period of relaxation before embarking on one of Uganda’s most popular wildlife activities—the afternoon boat cruise along the River Nile. This leisurely cruise takes you upstream towards the base of Murchison Falls, providing exceptional opportunities to view hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and numerous antelope species gathering along the riverbanks. Bird enthusiasts may also spot African fish eagles, kingfishers, bee-eaters, herons, cormorants, and the impressive Goliath heron.

As you approach the base of the falls, enjoy breathtaking views of the powerful cascade and the surrounding cliffs before returning by boat and transferring back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Return to Kampala or Entebbe

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the lodge before checking out and beginning your return journey to Kampala or Entebbe. As you drive through Uganda’s scenic countryside, you will pass local villages, farmlands, and vibrant trading centers, offering a glimpse into everyday life.

Depending on your travel schedule, you may stop for lunch en route before continuing to your preferred drop-off location. Upon arrival in Kampala, Entebbe International Airport, or your hotel, your guide will bid you farewell, marking the end of your unforgettable Murchison Falls National Park safari.
