Experience one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife adventures on this 2 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari from Kigali, a short yet unforgettable journey that takes you to Uganda’s world-famous Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Starting and ending in Kigali, Rwanda, this safari offers the quickest and most convenient way to enjoy Uganda’s renowned gorilla trekking experience while reducing travel time compared to departing from Kampala or Entebbe.
Your unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from Kigali International Airport, your hotel, or another agreed location in Kigali. After meeting your professional safari guide, you will set off on a scenic drive through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside, passing rolling hills, terraced farms, vibrant villages, and lush tea plantations. The journey offers excellent opportunities to appreciate why Rwanda is known as the “Land of a Thousand Hills.”
After approximately three to four hours of driving, you will arrive at the Uganda-Rwanda border, where your guide will assist you with the immigration formalities before continuing into southwestern Uganda. From the border, the drive continues through spectacular mountain scenery to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, one of Africa’s oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests and home to the endangered mountain gorillas.
Upon arrival at your lodge, you will check in and enjoy a freshly prepared lunch. Spend the remainder of the afternoon relaxing at the lodge while taking in the breathtaking forest views. Depending on your arrival time and personal preference, you may enjoy an optional community walk to visit nearby villages, interact with local residents, or learn about the traditions of the Batwa people, the original forest inhabitants. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner before retiring for an overnight stay as you prepare for the next day’s once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience.
